Fluorocarbon to Hollow Braid Crimped Connection Guide
Step 1 - Sliding the Crimp Onto the Braid
	First match the appropriately sized crimp with the fluorocarbon being used. Slide the crimp on the threader and place the tip of the braid through the end loop of the threader.
	Slide the crimp off the threader and onto the braid. Remove the braid from the end loop of the threader. Make sure that the crimp does not fall off the braid so this step does not have to be repeated.
Step 2 - Preparing The Fluorocarbon
	For line sizes 50 pounds and below, you can cut the splicing end at an angle with a razor blade. The precise slanted cut allows for easier workability and eliminates the possibility of cutting the hollow braid from the inside-out when fighting a fish under tension.
	For line sizes 60 pounds and above it is necessary to file the splicing end into the shape of a bullet. There is such great tension when fighting fish under these pressures that there can be no angle at all and must be smoothed round by the file.
Step 3 - Method 1 - Inserting The Fluorocarbon Into The Braid
	Insert the cut/filed fluorocarbon end into the appropriately sized hollow splicing needle and start to work it through the hollow braid.
	Thread the needle 5 feet into braid and push the needle through the wall of the braid. Pull any fluorocarbon back inside the braid that may have come out when removing the needle. THIS DOES NOT DAMAGE THE BRAID!
Step 3 - Method 2 - Inserting The Fluorocarbon Into The Braid
	Work the wire opener (supplied with the kit) or splicing needle 5 feet into the hollow braid in order to open it up. Push the opened up braid off the end of the splicing needle so it stays open. Do not press or apply tension to the opened up hollow braid as it will collapse again. Push the wire opener/needle through the wall of the braid remembering that this does not cause it damage. The fluorocarbon will now easily move through the entire length of hollow braid that was just opened.
	Push the needle through the wall of the braid remembering that this does not cause it damage.
Step 4 - Sliding the Crimp onto the Fluorocarbon (in the Braid)
	Now slide the crimp onto the fluorocarbon and down to within 1/8 - 1/4 inch of where the fluorocarbon exits the hollow braid.
	Use the pliers to push the crimp down to the fluoro/hollow transition point. Find the smallest cavity on the pliers that the fluorocarbon/hollow braid will easily slide through. Notice that the cavities on the pliers are coned shaped (so one side will be larger than the other). Place the small side of the cavity (the side of the pliers with the laser engraving) against the crimp.
	Push the crimp down slowly, in increments, toward the fluoro/hollow transition point. Take care when reaching the end so that the crimp does not slide over the transition point.
Step 5 - Crimping
	You will be crimping twice and for the first crimp the small side of the pliers (the side that has the laser engraving) should be facing the fluoro/hollow transition point. Make sure that the crimp is always flush with the side of the pliers that has the smaller holes/laser engraving. Crimp by squeezing like a firm handshake.
	Once the first crimp is complete, flip the pliers over so that the smaller holes/laser engraving are now facing the opposite direction. Rotate the line and crimp 90o from the first crimping and then crimp again (remembering that the end of the crimp has to be flush with the side of the pliers that has the smaller holes/laser engraving).
	The finalized crimp should now have two sets of alternating fins. If you choose to use an adhesive, follow the directions and apply it 1- 2 inches above the crimped connection.
